The complexity of transport systems is growing incredibly fast, thus Safety Critical Systems in the transport domain are becoming increasingly complex, not only in scale, but also the underlying technology. Critical can provide engineering processes definition, solution design and support for the development and integration of Safety Critical Sub-Systems for the different means of transportation: road (passenger and goods) as well as maritime and rail transportation.

Critical combines a technological background in the modelling and design of safety and mission critical software with a relevant enterprise application integration capability, to provide specific technological projects under strict client requirements: from the small carrier to the great logistics operator, from the concessionaire of the small city public transportation to the authority or the regional consortium of passenger transport.

According to standards up to SIL4, Critical has developed a Guidance Control System solution for a "tram on tires", a new concept for comfortable passenger transport on high frequency dedicated bus lanes. This autonomous bus, guided by magnets, can steer, accelerate, decelerate and dock accordingly to a pre-planned route, allowing for the operator to get the precision of a rail system with the flexibility of a bus.
