PREMFIRE is a powerful and portable, multi-functional command & control decision support system for the prevention and mitigation of forest fire hazards. The system comprises features that greatly enhance the effectiveness of forest fire prevention and fighting actions, providing fire risk assessment and centralized management capabilities for teams in the field.

PREMFIRE uses land cover cartography, satellite images and weather forecasts to generate highly detailed fire-risk maps, which can be used to identify critical areas where fires are likely to occur. It also provides a command & control system that provides real-time information to fire fighters in the field, while sending field data to the command centre for decision support and dissemination. For damage assessment, PREMFIRE integrates an automatic burn scar mapping system, allowing assessment of damage caused by forest fires.
